Overstock.com Lowers Auction Fees, Delays New-Feature Launch

Overstock.com will lower listing and commission fees for online-auction sellers effective April 10, 2007. The head of Overstock.com Auctions Meghan Tuohig also announced on discussion boards the launch of 1-day auctions and the delay of the long-promised bid cancellation feature and Classifieds.

Listing fee decreases range from zero to 7 cents, depending on the starting price. For example, for items with a starting price of less than one dollar, listing fees will go from 17 cents to 10 cents. Closing (commission) fees will also be lowered, with the first tier commission (for items selling for between one cent and $25) going from 3.25 percent to 3 percent.

When Overstock.com launched its Auctions platform in September 2004, online-auction sellers in some categories hoped they could migrate their businesses from eBay to Overstock Auctions.

Auction to test value of state trust land

A state trust land auction on Tuesday will test the value of 125 acres in one of Scottsdale's busiest corridors for corporate offices. The Arizona State Land Department is offering the land northeast of Loop 101 and Bell Road in a 99-year commercial lease. The appraised land value is $68.5 million, or $550,000 per acre. Scottsdale in 2005 paid $47.2 million, or $590,000 per acre, for 80 acres of state trust land near the city's WestWorld event park, which is southeast of Loop 101 and Bell Road. .

City hears two bids for MSA site

Indianapolis - Two local development teams are eager to build on the old Market Square Arena site in downtown Indianapolis.

The city reopened the bidding process after a development team chosen three years ago failed to get the necessary financing in place. As a result the two, two-acre parcels have remained gravel parking lots since Market Square Arena was imploded nearly six years ago.

Wednesday afternoon, the Metropolitan Development Commission revealed the teams now vying for the project.

One is MarketAbility Partners, which includes Mansur Real Estate, Lauth Property Group, Hearthview Residential and Venture Real Estate. It proposes a $150 million mixed-use development including housing, office space, retail and a Target store.

Easterby: Team can play a winning game

Irish outfit Munster were twice runners-up before finally being crowned European champions at the Millennium Stadium last season.

Now it's the Scarlets who have taken on the mantle of nearly-men, having lost at the semi-final stage for the third time in Saturday's 33-17 defeat to Leicester at the Walkers Stadium.

But Easterby is convinced that they can still achieve their holy grail of Heineken glory in the future.

'We will bounce back from this,' insisted the Ireland flanker.

Site helps promote ebay auctions

Dominitech, a popular search engine and Internet portal, has announced its launch of a new Dominitech Market Place. The Dominitech Market Place will serve as a quick and easy way for eBay users to promote their auctions.

Ebay users can now easily submit their auction numbers and descriptions using a tool found in the Dominitech Market Place. Jeff Herrera, Affiliate Marketing Manager, says, This is an excellent opportunity for eBay users to promote their auction to the thousands of visitors Dominitech.com receives everyday, as well as give current Dominitech visitors more of a reason to keep coming back.

It simply has information about poker and nothing more.
Before Dominitech closed most of its services back in 2004 after downsizing, the Domintech Market Place was called the Dominitech Shopping Area.
