| Burlco eyes Web auctions
Burlington County plans to join other local governments in auctioning government surplus items on the Web. The Burlington County Freeholders authorized its treasurer's office to sign an agreement with GovDeals Inc., which operates an Internet auction site called www.govdeals.com. The freeholders said they will sell vehicles and office equipment to the public online to make more money, save time and attract more bidders. Sharon Brauckmann, county purchasing agent, said the auction would be held later this year and not until the state Department of Community Affairs gives its approval. She said the state must approve a county application to waive the normal local public auction using an auctioneer. Kurt Brock, the county's chief financial officer, said the state is approving Internet auctions of government property only on eBay and GovDeals.

Iran to seek bids for two atomic power plants
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran said on Sunday it would seek bids in the next few days for two new nuclear power plants and will partly run them on fuel produced at home, a process the West fears could lead to material for building atomic bombs.Ahmad Fayazbakhsh, an official at Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation, said the power plants would each have capacity for 1,000 to 1,600 MW and would be built at Bushehr, the southwest port city where Russians are building Iran's first atomic plant.The West fears Iran's civilian nuclear programme is a smokescreen for atomic weapon ambitions, a charge Tehran denies.A Western diplomat said the tender announcement appeared aimed at justifying Iran's statement on Monday it had expanded work to make atomic fuel in defiance of a U.N. demand to halt uranium enrichment, a process which can be used to make bombs."Two international tenders in the coming days will be issued by Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation ...
Tazara barred from re-tendered bids
THE High Court's Land Division has restrained the Tanzania-Zambia Railways Authority (TAZARA), its agents or assignees, from opening the re-tendered bids scheduled for today concerning sale of a semi-developed estate of 6.4 acres valued at over 3bn/-. Judge Stella Longway gave the order last Friday in favour of Ocean View Apartments Limited (applicant) in respect of the Tazara Estate property No. 3, pending determination of an application for temporary injunction set for hearing on June 11, this year. A counsel from Law Associates (Advocates), Mr Rosan Mbwambo, for the applicant, filed the application the same day under certificate of urgency. A Tazara (respondent) had set to open the bids today for the estate located near SabaSaba Grounds at Kurasini area.
Jackals To Hold Jersey Auctions During Final Home Game
Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today that they will hold two separate jersey auctions on Friday during their final home game of the season. The Jackals will be auctioning off both their game-worn Home White jerseys and their Budweiser/Drink Responsibly Warm Up jerseys, sponsored by Seneca Beverage Corp. Throughout the game fans can place bids on the Warm Up jerseys as they will be the feature of a Silent Auction in the First Arena concourse. All the proceeds for the Warm Up jersey auction will be donated by the Jackals and Seneca Beverage Corp to the Glove House. The Jackals will also hold a live auction for the Game-Worn/Home White jerseys on the ice after the conclusion of the game with the Port Huron Flags. Fans can place bids with auctioneer/public address announcer Mike Strobel, as each Jackals player displays their game jersey.
